50170 In Service

50170 is seen here stabled between services at Norwich Station in 1988 its was fitted with RETB at the time for working on the east suffolk line. It formed part of Norwich set 108 with met cam DMCL 50149 and TBSL 59077.

By 1996 50170 along with partner 50253 had been repainted in the unique Strathclyde PTE livery of blue with orange and yellow stripes by Scotrail for the introduction of services between Motherwell and Cumbernauld. It is seen here at Glasgow Central in 1999.

50170 had moved upto scotland by the early 1990's and was refurbished along with several other 101's to work on Strathclyde's shorter services, from Glasgow Central to Paisley Canal and Whifflet.
